On Sunday July 10 2005, Antoon Aukes will perform at the North Sea Jazz Fest in The Hague with Panhandle Swing. Following up on the same stage will be the great YoungBlood Brass Band, another good reason to come and see.
Panhandle Swing is Europe 1# western swing band and plays in the Big Sound style of Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys. Since their start in 1984 Antoon was part of this band. With this setup he toured Europe in 1986 with Tiny Moore who was an original Texas Playboy. In 2003 Panhandle Swing made a new kick off. Eight full prof jazz musicians now make the band the European answer to the U.S. Asleep At The Wheel. Panhandle S. will releas their new CD Tribute To Bob Wills in July 2005.
